How the Paternity DNA Test Works
All children inherit DNA from their biological parents—half from the mother, and half from the father. Skilled DNA analysts can analyse a child’s genetic profile with that of an alleged father and look for similar traits of inheritance linking both. The profiles of a biologically related parent and child will show expected patterns of genetic inheritance that’s been passed down from parent to child.
